Aircraft M.I.A. Projectis a group of researchers who collect information on United States Army Air Force aircraft that crashed or landed in Polish territory during the World War II. The members of this group come from all over Poland but they are united by their dedication to solving 50+ years old mysteries.

Was one of the two main heavy bomber types used by USAAF. In Europe, it was primarily used by the 15th Air Force operating from the bases in southern Italy. The Liberators were also used in the 8th Air Force which stationed in the UK.

The 15th Air Force attacked industrial targets in the southern Europe and on many occasions made it up to the south of Poland and attacked fuel industry objects there. More than 50 B-24 crashed or landed in Poland during World War Two. Over 40 were part of the 15th Air Force, and the remaining machines belonged to the 8th Air Force.
